looks intresting
I stll find them in charity shops, but there was no standard for the extras, so the videos are in a variety of formats and sizes!
@@LarryDors glad to hear it
As I remember he smeared jam and cigarette ash on both a CD and a vinyl record. After wiping both only the CD would play.
Have you watched the video before making your comment? 1) Jam was never used on a compact disc, only honey (and coffee). 2) Cigarette ash is a new suggestion to me. The original clip was before the general ban on smoking being shown in programs, but I doubt TW would encourage their presenters to smoke so they could use the ash to help their demonstration. 3) If you smeared anything on a vinyl record chances are you would damage the grooves, so no one would put jam or ash on a vinyl disc and expect it to play afterwards!
@@LarryDors You seem to have missed my point. Yes, I did watch the video but my recollection was with jam and cigarette ash irrespective of whatever programme it was shown on - I did not even mention TW (but lots of people think that it was). And no, someone smoking was not shown - simply ash in an ash tray! Lastly, it is of course pretty obvious that spreading jam and ash on a vinyl record would destroy it but that was not the point. The point was to show the difference between a vinyl record and a CD: the CD still played perfectly whilst the vinyl record was binned.
Sorry, I do not know where you are based, but in the UK, Tomorrow's World was the first programme to demonstrate the CD (see my clip at ua-cam.com/video/bMp1pSVxoqw/v-deo.html). Many people were convinced jam was used, but that happended on a music programme called the Oxford Road Show in November 1982 by the DJ Peter Powell. I have yet to find a full copy of that episode. Breakfast TV used honey and coffee (see ua-cam.com/video/fiOFOJWtyGs/v-deo.html) and obviously other programmes covered the technology. Can you remember the programme you saw it on? Searching for CD and Ash only comes up with results of the 1992 Northern Irish rock band Ash! 😄
@@LarryDors Unfortunately, I cannot remember the programme. I know many still seem to think it was TW but it appears that was debunked several years ago. I really wish I knew but I was convinced it was shown on television as we had no internet back in the 1980s - but then maybe it was all just a dream after all!
Big
не большой, длинный! 😀
lmao i guess it’s hard to say four words differently because they sounded practically the same half the time 😅
But if you hear them repeated enough times (like I did when making the video) they won't sound like English at all! 🤔 🤨
Who are you the movie
NOt to be confused with Who Am I? the 2024 film or the 1998 Jackie Chan one!
yes! 1:13 😁😁 It should have been in part 1 😜
say whaaaa, how can you pick the line "I don't think so" and not include the most epic line where it was actually intented to be epic and not just a line in a part of dialogue? I'm of course talking about Raiden in Mortal Kombat with the legendary Christopher Lambert.
It's in Part 2, which you have seen as you made a comment about this very line on that video. Have seen Part3 yet? 🤔
"War Games" 1983! Talking computer!
The computer isn't doing the talking, it's just dialling a telephone number to hear a recording over the landline, so I'm afraid it is not a talking computer. 😥
He looks so young there. You can see and hear it is him, but as I first became aware of him because of Modern Life Is Goodish, it is surreal seeing him from 1991. I'd love to see more.
I don't think he appeared on any other episodes of the show. There were some other comedy programmes that he might have been on, but I haven't got any recordings of them!
What was the name of the last movie
Do you mean the one with Dana Carvey in the blonde wig and Mike Myers standing up in Stan Mikita's Donut Shop? That's Wayne's World (1992) as written on the black cap that Wayne (Mike Myers) is wearing. I put the names of the films in the bottom right hand corner of the frame nowadays but back in 2018 I did end credits, although they were in alphabetical order.
@@LarryDors Wayne’s world!!! That’s it. Wow feels like a whole other world now
A bit disappointed that he didn't say his catphrase....MATHS!
And Shrek
There are several more clips that feature the phrase since I made this 7 years ago, so maybe I should do a part 2!
Madagascar & Bee Movie also has a scene what are you talking about
I haven't seen Bee Movie, and I got my copy of Madagascar three years after I made this compilation. A Part 2 will definately be added to the 'to do' list!
Is this Macintosh quadra ? 😮
It's whatever was current in December 1994! I've never owned a Mac (or used one) so I really have no idea, and software reviews from CD-ROM INteractive didn't give details of the machine they wera running the software on, unless it is mentioned in the review. They might have done if it was a printed one but I doubt they would have a video review as well in the same issue. 🤔
THANK YOU. This is like the one of 733 videos that ISNT rush hour. Good god.
You're welcome!
Fun Fact: Two of the people in this video have been on Taskmaster. Can you guess which ones?
If I had used a longer clip, it would have been three people in the video have appeared on Taskmaster (Series 3,1,15). And for our viewers outside of the UK, we're not talking about the Australian, American, New Zealand, Danish or the Swedish variation.
I don't get it. What's the point of these videos?
You could ask that question about thousands of videos on YT. At the time of writing, I've had 154 views since it was published 12 hours ago, so people are watching it without asking that question. Quite a few suscribers watch them to learn English, listening how the same line is said by different people. I just make them because I recall the same phrase being said in different films!
@@LarryDors Thanks for answering. I was led here by the algorithm and was really confused. I guess I'm not your target audience. Have a nice day.
Where’s Kruger from Elysium? Nobody delivered this line better than he did.
I can only use films I've seen and/or got copies of and I haven't seen Elysium! 😮 I've just seen a clip on YT (I Will Hunt You Down Scene) and you only hear him say the line. You can't actually see him saying the line!
No ma'am, but your about to.
Grammatically that should be you're (as in 'you are about to') but I never got the fact that ma'am is shortened version of madam, but with the same number of characters!

OBRA MAESTRA
¡Eres demasiado amable!
I checked to see if you had done, "Let's get out of here." It turns out it's an old code, but you check out. Subscribed. Maybe, "Fire in the hole" next? <3
Thanks for subscribing! I did a quick check of my subtitle files for 'fire in the hole' and I found 29 occurances, but that will no doubt increase the further I delve. One for the 'to do' list. 👍 🙂
I was llike, Oh what's this video about? And then realized the title had said it all. It's as simple as that.
You should check out my recent one at ua-cam.com/video/chBx5v3q6Do/v-deo.html which is even more literal, if that's possible!
You forgot one but it has the "F" word in the question. It's from "The Crow: City Of Angels."
I probably forget quite a few, that's why I did a part 2 at ua-cam.com/video/IAclfvBpbJU/v-deo.html. I've only seen the original 1994 film The Crow but I usually only use the exact wording in the phrase.
Larry Dors is a youtube legend - it's as simple as that!
You're too kind!
There was, if I remember correctly, a more accurate version of this on the BBC that even included some percussion, but I'm unable to find it anywhere.
The BBC Micro had three mono music channels plus one noise channel. I used a technique that combined one music channel with the noise channel to get a bass sound, so I couldm't add any percussive sounds using noise. As for a 'more accurate' version, well I wouldn't normally offer help at finding the competition (in 1985) but the BBC and Master Computer Public Domain Library at 8bs.com/catalogue/bbc.htm has many disc images of music (mine included). You will need an BBC Emulator to play them, but information is on the site.
Kit kat adverts were genius 🇬🇧
Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked Looney Tunes: Back in Action
At the time of writing I made this 6 years ago, so there are several films that are not included. The two you mentioned, from 2003 and 2011, plus Sneakers (1992), Mean Girls (2004), Spectre (2015), No Time To Die (2021) and Override (2021), to name a few. The only problem is that if I make a new version of this compilation the interesting comments will stay with this one. If I find enough I'll do a part 2 or a revised one, which someone will complain about when I don't include the latest Bond film! 😉
We needed this video!
Thanks! And now you have it!
Poor
Seems like its working, this was on my front page for no reason. 10/10 video though
I'm now getting one of my own playlists on my front page, even if I click on the 'new to you' button! 🤨
Thanks
"the meaning in no meaning"
What does it mean?
Anything you want!
The meaning is to find meaning!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Possibly! 😉 🤔
the meaning of the short is to see if it can get views even though theres no meaning
Exactly, and at the time of reply, that's 196! 🙂👍
The meaning is plain; there is no meaning. Sorry, working on English as a first language.
That's okay. I watned to see if the video would get any significant views, and it's going well so far!
Well, this was recommended to me so I guess it's working... 15 views so far...
Thanks. By the time of my reply, the views have gone up to 100!
Poetic and beautiful
You're too kind!
can you please Film Singalong - Me Too
Do you mean the track by Meghan Trainor? I watched the official video for it and it may have potential as a Filmsingalong if I can find an instrumental version of the song and it doesn't flag up as copyright strike (I have had that happen before and the video was effectively banned from YT).
John Thomson and Mark Williams from The Fast Show at 2:10 and 4:14.
I forgot to add a John Thomson to the name before the advert with Jim Carter, but Mark has his name and picture on display at ua-cam.com/video/K9CEvrD48Yk/v-deo.htmlsi=DQy1eb9N-KkTd-Nc&t=234
@@LarryDors Good thing I spotted him because I'm a Fast Show fan.
There are other Disney Pixar movies with someone saying what are you talking about
I only found Monsters Inc, Monsters University and Toy Story in my collection, what are the others?
Toy Story 2 Cars The Incredibles Finding Nemo & Cars 2 there's a scene in Toy Story with Buzz saying what are you talking about
I have the Toy Story clip near the end but missed the others you mentioned for some reason. If I find enough clips from other films I'll include them in a part 2!
better late than not at all.
Better late than never.
Better never late
Better late than never
congratulations!
Thanks! 👍
good job and review 😂
Thank you! 👍
Be that as it may, now has no meaning to me.
That is spooky considering the video I'm going to publish on 25th April...
